Atelier limited

Search service
Can we find what you're looking for?

Atelier advises clients on the acquisition and disposal of high value works of art and has been responsible for making some notable acquisitions for both private and public collections.

If you are looking for a picture by a particular artist or subject, let us know, and we would be pleased to search for it on your behalf. If purchasing at auction, we will notify you before the sale, assess condition and, if instructed, bid on your behalf. Our fee, if successful, is 20% of the hammer price.

Atelier is a member of BADA (the British Antique Dealers' Association), LAPADA (the Association of Art and Antique Dealers) and CINOA (the International Art and Antique Dealers Association).

Conservation

We offer a museum standard conservation service in oil paintings, watercolours, prints and drawings. Our approach to conservation is in line with that taken by national museums and galleries.

  • Fully qualified, highly experienced, professional conservators each at the top of their particular field. Many years of experience in London’s national museums.
  • Free written estimates without obligation.

  • Framing and mounting to museum standards.

  • Free collection and delivery in Jersey, Guernsey
and London. Otherwise by special arrangement.

Valuations

We are pleased to provide professional written valuations for insurance (replacement cost) or probate (resale value) for individual pictures or entire collections. A fee is charged for this service and is based on the time taken to view the items and undertake research, if necessary. The fee is not based on the valuation provided.

Period Frames

It is important to select the right frame for a picture. We are pleased to advise on the most appropriate frame or mount and can often find the correct period frame to compliment a particular picture in your collection or to suit an interior. A fine period frame can often be acquired for similar expense to a modern frame, and is likely to increase in value. All materials used for mounting works on paper are conservation approved.
