Edwin Henry Boddington (1836-1905):
British painter of landscapes, genre scenes and landscapes with figures, Edwin Boddington was born in 1836 and lived mainly in London. He was the son of the landscape painter Henry John Boddington (1811-1865). He exhibited in London at the Royal Academy between 1854-1866 but more often at the British Institution and Royal Society of British Artists. His subjects were mostly views of the Thames in a calm evening light usually painted in his distinctive range of dark greens and browns
