Michael Crawley (20th century):
Michael Crawley is well known for his atmospheric watercolours of New York and Paris. He also painted landscapes, flowers and sporting scenes. He is acclaimed for his work at the Royal Crown Derby porcelain factory and his designs have frequently appeared on their products. During his time at Royal Crown Derby he was responsible for decorating a series of dinner plates and a cream jug presented to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother on the occasion of her visit to the Royal Crown Derby factory in 1971. In 1974 he painted six plates with Derbyshire scenes which were presented to HRH Princess Anne when she visited Royal Crown Derby.
