Ernest Llewellyn Hampshire (1882-1944).:
London landscape painter in oil and watercolour, etcher and architect, Ernest Llewellyn Hampshire was born at East Dulwich on 16th June 1882. He initially trained as an architect and then studied at Clapham School of Art, Heatherley's and at the Central School of Arts and Crafts. He also studied at St Ives in Cornwall under John Noble Barlow (1861-1917). He exhibited between 1907-38 at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and at the Paris Salon. He lived in St John's Wood.
