Malcolm Osborne CBE, RA, PRE, RBC, ARCA (b.1880-1963):
Well known etcher and engraver of portraits, figure subjects and landscapes, Malcolm Osborne was born in Frome, Somerset. He studied at Queen's School of Art in Bristol and in London at the Royal College of Art under William Lethaby and Sir Frank Short. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, of which he was elected a member in 1926, and many other exhibiting societies. He was elected a Member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1909 and became President in 1938. Osborne lived in London and when Frank Short retired in 1924 he succeeded him as Professor of the Engraving School at the Royal College of Art.
