Edward Moerenhout (1801-1893):
Edward Moerenhout (1801-1893) was an internationally recognised Belgian painter who is best known for his atmospheric river views by moonlight. He worked in Antwerp and exhibited at the "Exposition Generale des Beaux-Arts" at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels in 1884. He is known for his preference for painting sets of three pictures, as in this case.
